Space defines the boundaries and sets the limits on the area to be decorated. The space most directly affecting window treatments is the area immediately surrounding the window, including the wall and the window itself.

Key questions:

* Is there enough wall space to extend the treatment comfortably beyond the window?

* Is there so much space above the window that your treatment should encompass that space?

* Is the space so limiting that the treatment must be installed on or very close to the frame?

Space – Altering Solutions:

* A room that appears small looks best with a simple window treatment that blends with the walls and creates the perception of greater space.

* In an oversize space, a  multi layered treatment helps give the impression of a cozier, warmer room
